Experience nature from a different perspective and at the same time learn interesting facts about nature and the surrounding area – this is what the Treetop Walk on the Grünberg in Gmunden offers.
The Salzkammergut region thrives on its diversity. It can be explored at ground level along beautiful hiking trails. However,
only the Salzkammergut Treetop Walk offers the opportunity to get as close to the tree tops and dive even deeper into the forest ecosystem.
Above the forest floor in the pristine nature, you get a breath-taking view of Gmunden and Lake Traun. But in addition to this the treetop walk also has a lot to offer: along the walkway visitors learn interesting facts about the flora and fauna, history and geology of the region. Information areas and learning stations impart knowledge and create awareness of nature. At the same time, the treetop walk invites you to stay and offers relaxation and a little break in the middle of nature.
The walk and observation tower are designed to be accessible and family-friendly. A maximum gradient of 6% also makes it easy to visit with a wheelchair or pushchair.
In the truest sense of the word, the highlight of the walk is the 39-metre-high,
architecturally unique observation tower. From the top platform of the tower, you get a unique view of the Alpine foothills and the Salzkammergut, from Lake Traun to the Dachstein. Just like the rest of the walkway, the tower is mainly made of wood and built in a nature-friendly way.
Our 75-metre tunnel slide, which is accessed from a 28-metre-high platform, promises an exceptional

At the experience stations, balancing beams or wobble elements have to be overcome - and all at aerial heights. The stations ensure the right amount of fun and excitement on a family outing. This is how nature becomes an experience.
With a comic book and pen in hand, you have to answer exciting questions about nature and the landscape.
On the comic boards along the treetop walk, the squirrel and the inhabitants of the forest help to find the right answers.
The rally is particularly interesting for children and families and provides knowledge about the environment
and surroundings in a playful way. This is how knowledge is fun.
Those who have completed all the tasks will receive a small price at the end of the excursion.
The Comic-Rallye booklet can be purchased at the cash register.
