HOW TO GET HERE

The Treetop Walk Salzkammergut on the Grünberg in Gmunden can be reached by car, public transport and even by boat. The last stretch from the valley to the mountain requires a cable car ride of about 7 minutes or a hike that takes about 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on the season, weather conditions and route.

Travelling to the treetop path by public transport is particularly environmentally friendly.

On busy days, such as weekends in summer, you can even be more mobile – and save time looking for a parking space.

And this is how it works:

  1. Step: Travel to Gmunden with the Austrian Federal Railways.
  2. Step: Take the Traunseetram from Gmunden station or Vorchdorf to the “Gmunden Seebahnhof” stop..
  3. Step: From the Seebahnhof stop it is only a five-minute walk to the valley station of the Grünberg cable car.

Paid parking is available in the immediate vicinity of the cable car valley station. The Salzkammergut treetop path itself cannot be reached by car.

Tour groups can get off at the cable car valley station, a parking space for the coach is available free of charge at the Toscana car park.

The treetop path is not directly accessible by car.

Arrival by boat

If you take a boat trip, you will land directly at the foot of the Grünberg. This is how you find your way:

  1. Step: Go by Traunseeschifffahrt to the “Grünbergseilbahn” landing stage. The boats take this route: Ebensee, Traunkirchen, Gasthof Hoisn, Gasthof Ramsau, Altmünster, Grünbergseilbahn, Gmunden Rathausplatz.
  2. Step: From this landing stage, it is only a five-minute walk to the Grünberg cable car valley station.
